Medical Isolation Facility

Due to events of the recent past, there was a sudden and increased need for medical isolation facilities in the country.

The MacMillan Hospital was offering to provide space for such a facility in one of the unused buildings in Christchurch.

The brief was to adapt the building for the stated purpose, to hold over patients contaminated with the dangerous disease for a period of 2 weeks-2 months.

The outcome was a high-tech yet nature-integrating facility, prioritizing the mental wellness of the patients while they are isolated from being social and in distress.
